Greetings and welcome, please come in!
One of the big things that I have been coming to understand since I started Tveir Hrafnar (which for those that never knew means 'two ravens' in Old Norse. It's a reference to Huginn & Munnin, thought & memory- Odin's ravens who went ranging wide every day to bring the news of the world to old One Eye) has to do with how to best- make clear- what it is I actually am trying to do.
What I came to see was that my talismanic work was often best explained by the writings in my blog, though best viewed (of course!) in pictures. Having the Tveir Hrafnar site separate from the Hotel Vast Horizon blog was not a particularly elegant scenario. Now they share a single roof, which I believe will suit both aspects- which truly are two sides of one coin - far better.
I also came to the conclusion that Tveir Hrafnar was actually far more obscure, as well as unpronounceable and thus hard to spell, share and find (which rather defeats the purpose!) than actually served my intentions. It seemed also, from a magical perspective, to be unnecessarily 'occluded' which I am not actually into.
My goals are fairly simple:
First and foremost, to help create connections between my clients and their powers/spirits/deities/the field/deep minds via my art. I believe that this is a large part of my life path, to aid spirit-and-spirit-worker to be better able to do their own particular work. This is one of the cornerstones of MY work, my practice, my path.
Second of course, is to be able to practice my art and make a living doing so. With the help of all my fantastic clients and supporters, this is happening - slowly, but still much faster than I expected when I began this project! I thank you!
Thirdly is to be of service to practitioners and seekers outside of my actual shop output- this is where the blog comes in, as well as the lovely opportunities I have been granted to assist in teaching at times. I don't see myself as good guru material (at all!) but I think I have a perspective on the magical/sacred arts that - perhaps 'is not commonly shared' is a good way to put it. I have had quite a lot of feedback that makes it clear that my views ae not 'unique' by any stretch of the imagination, but not widely spoken of.
All of these things are I feel, best served and housed under my name. That people can both say it and spell it is a huge bonus!
So please, come in, take a look around, visit my friends and relatives, and see what there is to see. May it serve you well!
Also I haven't said it explicitly for awhile, but it is always true: sharing, reblogging, pinning, and linking to my site, photos, talismans etc. is the best way to assist in the long term success of this project! Word of mouth, both on and offline is what makes my work possible.
Blessings to you and yours, may the spirits of the season smile upon you, and may you achieve the accomplishments of your wills and desires-
Aidan Wachter, October 2015
ps- if there is a piece you don't see in the shop, please contact me! Even though I have used some OLD photos (which make me cringe) for a number of pieces, for some designs I have no usable photos at all. All with be remade & photographed for the shop in time, but all are available- just ask!
pps- on a related note, there are a few images still watermarked with the Tveir Hrafnar watermark- these again were the only photos I had to work with.
