Gate of the Dead

600.00

This came at the same time as the Spirit of Blades piece, and both came out of the work that brought about The Sabbat. This one is intended as a trance-gate for working with what I think of as the 'deep line dead'. The deep line dead are not necessarily 'family' in a physical sense (although they may be) but are those dead who are most interested in working with us magically. In my experience, they seem to be very old, all that I have met present no more recently than perhaps 1800, based on dress and such. I expect this is a personal and specific experience rather than a more general trend.

These altar pieces are each slightly different, no two quite alike. Entirely hand built from sheets of pure silver (also called fine silver), which is .999 silver, lacking the copper (or other) metal/metaloid content of sterling and other silver alloys. The fine silver is good bit softer than sterling, so not always the best for jewelry. However, it is a brilliant silver-white, like moonlight or starlight. It also does not tarnish, which is a great bonus!

Custom designed work type are available as well, please contact me to discuss what you are looking for.

Gate of the Dead is 2.95" x 1.85" x .1" thick (75mm x 47mm x 2.6mm thick) and weighs 2.6 ounces (73.7 grams). Not designed to hang, this piece comes with a reclaimed redwood stand made by UUSI Design Studio.
