Talismans

495.00

This is a two sided-piece, built up in layers of hand-cut sterling silver.

One side is a human skull bearing antlers, a symbol that I think of variously as the Hunter, the Shaman, or the Sorcerer. The other side is a stang/World Tree motif with the simple cross-like form that I call The Four Winds. The intention behind this one is to access the deep gnosis that comes from the atavistic powers of the primal hunters/shamans/sorcerers of much earlier times. The antlers serve triple (at least duties) as sort of cognates of human-as-animal, the World Tree rising from the crown of the head, and as the sympathetic powers we seek to gain from our animal kin. The stang/tree/winds side mirrors the antlered skull, as the natural powers that exist behind the work of the Sorcerer. Viewed from a witchcraft perspective, piece is a talisman of the Witch Father, and/or the Horned Lord. As a two-sided piece, this item is not hallmarked as sterling silver, as I am unwilling to choose a face to damage with the hallmark!

Being entirely hand crafted, each piece is unique, so even pieces based on the same design have significant variations and are one-of-a-kind.

Pendant measures 1.2" x 1.75" (30 x 44mm) in diameter x .14″ (3.6mm) thick, weight is right around 16 grams/ .56 ounces.
